“Energy and Minerals”: Electricity Loads Return to Normal
The spokesperson for the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, Ms. Tahreer Al-Qaq, confirmed on Saturday that the easing of the recent heatwave starting August 14 has contributed to electricity loads returning to normal after record-high consumption during the peak of the heatwave.اضافة اعلان

Al-Qaq told Al-Mamlaka that between August 7 and 14, electricity loads exceeded 4,500 MW, reaching over 4,800 MW at times. On the day following the heatwave’s decline, the load was recorded at 4,660 MW, still considered very high.

She added that today saw a noticeable decrease in loads, returning to levels typical for this time of year, noting that the electricity system faced significant challenges during the past period and managed them efficiently.

Al-Qaq emphasized that the system maintained continuity of service despite high pressure, with citizens responding by conserving electricity despite the difficult conditions.

She explained that generation capacities approached their maximum limits but performed excellently overall, despite minor challenges at some stations, such as the Sobhi station, which were quickly addressed.

She also highlighted that modern systems at electricity companies allowed transfers of loads between stations, helping sustain supply and prevent power outages. The outages that did occur were very limited and brief, thanks to the use of advanced technical methods.
