The signing falls under the umbrella of the joint cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) last February.
The contract entails the supply and installation of five wind turbines with a total capacity of 25 megawatts (MW) in the Batn Al-Ghoul area of Ma'an Governorate. The Government of the United Arab Emirates, represented by Masdar, will fully fund the execution of the project, while Samra Electric Power Company will oversee its operation and maintenance upon completion and handover.
The execution of this project comes within the framework of strengthening brotherly ties between the two nations and supporting Jordan's efforts to expand renewable energy initiatives. This aims to bolster energy security, advance the transition toward clean and sustainable energy sources, and fulfill national efforts to meet the growing demand for electricity—reaffirming the strength of the Jordanian-Emirati partnership and their mutual commitment to implementing strategic projects that achieve sustainable development goals.
