In an awareness message broadcast through its official social media platforms, the Commission stated that extra caution should be exercised when making online purchases, especially from global e-commerce websites.

This comes as part of the TRC’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness among Jordan’s digital community about the proper and positive uses of telecommunications and digital services to avoid risks and maximize the benefits of these tools.

In its message, the Commission warned: “Avoid purchasing from unfamiliar global e-commerce websites or local social media pages that do not have physical offices and fixed, known contact addresses.”

The number of internet users in the Kingdom is estimated at more than 11 million.
