The speech reaffirms that nation-building begins with the awareness of its people, the strength of its institutions, and the dedication of those who serve within them.
His Majesty the King has placed the Jordanian citizen at the heart of his message, expressing confidence in their awareness when paths become unclear, their wisdom when emotions run high, and their sincerity when challenges intensify.
This confidence places a significant responsibility on educational institutions, extending beyond the transfer of knowledge to include character development, the promotion of critical thinking, and the reinforcement of national belonging and responsible citizenship.
From this perspective, I believe that the responsibility of universities today lies in preparing generations equipped with knowledge and skills, possessing awareness and sound judgment, respecting differences, and confronting misinformation and extremism through reason and knowledge.
At Applied Science Private University, we are committed to making these values an integral part of the university experience and contributing to the development of individuals capable of serving their country and participating in shaping its future, while preparing graduates with the competence and capabilities needed to compete in the labor market.
In this context, we pay tribute to the souls of the sons of Karak and reflect on the sacrifices they made, which represent a trust and responsibility that we all bear.
We also affirm that the sons of Hamoud are sons of the entire nation, that the grief of their families is our grief, and that our national unity will remain resilient against all those who seek to undermine it or divide Jordanians.
We renew our pride in the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, the security agencies, and their personnel, who continue to fulfill their duties to protect the nation and safeguard its security and stability.
Honoring their sacrifices requires more than words; it requires every institution to fulfill its role. In this regard, we reaffirm the University's responsibility to safeguard minds through knowledge, confront extremism through awareness and education, and promote respect for human dignity, the law, and the public interest.
I also emphasize the importance of ensuring that the interests of Jordanian citizens remain at the heart of every decision, that education is aligned with production and labor market needs, and that scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship receive their rightful place in the development process.
At Applied Science Private University, we continue working to develop our academic programs and strengthen their alignment with labor market requirements, support scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and build partnerships that enable our students to transform their ideas into solutions and projects that serve the economy and society.
We also place particular importance on utilizing the University's academic and research capabilities to address national priorities, foremost among them water security.
This is achieved through supporting applied studies, research and student initiatives, and strengthening cooperation with relevant institutions to translate research findings into practical solutions that contribute to protecting and sustaining water resources.
The rule of law, integrity, equal opportunities, and respect for rights are not merely theoretical principles; they are values that must be reflected in the performance and daily practices of our institutions.
At the University, we are committed to upholding these values within our academic and administrative environment through fair procedures, respect for students' rights, equal opportunities, and linking responsibility to competence and accountability.
Promoting a culture of dialogue and respect for differing opinions is also a fundamental pillar in building an aware and cohesive society, capable of confronting challenges with confidence and responsibility.
We take pride in Jordan's steadfast position, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent state on their national soil, rejecting the attacks and violations targeting Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, and confronting expansionist ambitions that threaten the security and stability of the region.
We believe that academic institutions have a role to play in deepening younger generations' awareness of the issues facing their nation and equipping them with the knowledge and facts needed to understand their surroundings and defend just causes with awareness and responsibility.
Your Majesty,
The confidence placed in the Jordanian people is a national trust that we all bear. We will remain faithful to this responsibility, each from our respective position, through hard work, knowledge, and dedication.
At Applied Science Private University, we will continue to fulfill our educational, research, and community responsibilities and contribute to building a nation made strong by its people, dignified by its institutions, and steadfast under its Hashemite leadership.
May God protect Jordan, safeguard His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and preserve the blessings of security and stability upon our nation, while safeguarding its unity and strength.
