 Jordan’s senior men’s national basketball team will travel to Manila on Monday as it prepares for two crucial games against the Philippines and Australia on August 28 and 30, respectively, as part of the fourth window of the second round of Group E in the Asian qualifiers for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Qatar.اضافة اعلان

The national team delegation includes naturalized player Jalen Harris, Ahmad Al-Dwairi, Mohammad Shaher, Ahmad Al-Hamarsha, Fadi Ibrahim, Amin Abu Hawwas, Saif Al-Din Saleh, Hadi Al-Shami, Abdullah Olaguan, Malek Kanaan, Omar Salman, Yousef Dweik, Yazan Al-Tawil and Rouhi Al-Kilani.

The coaching and support staff includes Spanish head coach Luis Gil Torres, his assistants César Cámara Pérez and Jordanian coach Nayef Asfour, Spanish performance analyst Ignacio Rodríguez, team administrator Abdulhadi Salameh, photographer and social media coordinator Mousa Al-Awadi, fitness coach Ahmad Samir, physiotherapist Anas Jarajreh, and national teams programs technical director Marwan Matouq.

The national team recently concluded its participation in the William Jones Cup in Taipei, China, finishing sixth in the tournament.

The competition formed part of the Jordan Basketball Federation’s preparations for the Falcons, providing the players with valuable competitive experience and helping improve their technical and physical readiness ahead of upcoming commitments.

Under the qualifying system, Jordan advanced to the second round in Group E with the points accumulated during the first round. The team currently sits third with 11 points, the same total as second-placed Iran.

Australia leads the group with 12 points, followed by New Zealand in fourth with 10 points, while the Philippines and Syria occupy fifth and sixth place, respectively, with eight points each.

Meanwhile, international referee Ibrahim Jarrar also concluded his participation in the William Jones Cup, where he officiated as a neutral referee.

He was assigned to eight games, including the third-place playoff, and received a strong evaluation from the tournament’s technical observers.
