Awawdeh told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the financing aims to support government efforts to reduce poverty and unemployment, while encouraging youth to pursue self-employment and launch their own businesses.
He added that the Fund’s programs focus on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises at preferential profit rates, given their impact on empowering local communities and improving living conditions, as well as providing job opportunities for Jordanians.
Awawdeh highlighted that the Fund attaches particular importance to productive projects with economic viability, in order to promote a culture of entrepreneurship among young people and encourage self-reliance rather than waiting for traditional job opportunities.
Regarding the loan conditions, he explained that borrowers must be between 18 and 65 years old, with their project registered as a sole proprietorship at the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply, and the borrower authorized to sign on its behalf. In addition, the project and its employees must be registered with the Social Security Corporation before the final loan installment is disbursed.
