The Jordan–India Economic Forum kicked off on Tuesday morning in the capital, Amman, on the sidelines of a visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Kingdom.

The forum brings together leaders from more than 20 major Indian companies operating in the fields of manufacturing, engineering, energy, information and communications technology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, logistics, and financial services.
Jordanian private-sector companies from the same sectors are also participating, with the aim of establishing effective partnerships.
The forum witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Amman Chamber of Commerce, aimed at enhancing and facilitating trade relations, encouraging investment, and exchanging information and expertise.
On Monday, His Majesty King Abdullah II held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Al Husseiniya Palace, focusing on ways to expand cooperation between Jordan and India.
His Majesty described the Jordan–India Business Forum, held in Amman on Tuesday, as an important opportunity to discuss the development of trade cooperation, encourage investment, and build stronger partnerships between the two countries in key sectors.
