The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan stated on Thursday that negotiations between the United States and Iran regarding de-escalation and the situation in the Strait of Hormuz are still ongoing.

He added that Islamabad is doing its utmost to revive talks between Washington and Tehran, noting that Pakistan encourages both sides to exercise restraint and remain committed to dialogue to implement the memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Meanwhile, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, stated that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed to maritime traffic unless the Sultanate of Oman agrees to the Iranian proposal regarding vessel transit arrangements. He pointed out that discussions between Tehran and Muscat are currently focused on opening a temporary corridor in the strait.
In the early hours of Thursday, the U.S. military announced that it had completed an "intense wave" of strikes against Iran, after Washington resumed its attacks on Tehran following a week-long lull. This signals a potential expansion of the war in the Middle East, particularly with Iran's regional allies entering the confrontation.
