The declaration, issued at the G20 summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, stated: “Guided by the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, we will work toward just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Ukraine.”
While Ukraine received only a brief mention in the 30-page text, the U.S. plan regarding the country dominated the summit’s agenda, amid intensified European consultations to develop a counterproposal.
