Solidarity is Global Institute (SIGI) organized the international and local community to observe the day based on its societal responsibilities and roles in society in accordance with its vision and goals,

SIGI, also known as Tadamon, referred to mental health services in Jordan provided by the Ministry of Health, represented by the National Center for Mental Health, and 52 mental health clinics spread around the Kingdom, which operate within public health centers, in addition to the 55 private sector psychiatric clinics working with organizations and associations that operate in the field of health care.

According to the annual report issued by the Ministry of Health in 2021, 96,224 people visited psychiatric clinics affiliated with organizations and associations working in the field of health care, including 16,907 Jordanians, of whom 6,060 were men and 10,847 women, 5,913 non-Jordanians, and 73,404 refugees, as reported by UNHCR.

At the same time, 200,000 people visited psychiatric clinics working with the National Center for Mental Health in Jordan in 2021.

Tadamon believes that in order to accomplish the World Mental Health Day 2022 slogan, there must be legislation concerning mental illness and a budget for mental health programs in Jordan, which need to update, develop and expand the strategic plans for mental health, by adding curative and preventive programs, since the absence of specified legislation to deal with mental illnesses poses a challenge in providing curative and preventive services and programs.

According to WHO, 75 percent of countries in the world have specialized mental health legislation; Tadamon expressed hope that Jordan will be one of those countries in the near future, and thus be able to deal with mental illnesses, and make a priority of providing best services and treatment for all.
