The uncle of the three siblings who died following a fire that broke out inside a residential apartment in Zarqa on Sunday said that security authorities determined that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in a fan inside the children's room.

The uncle told Al Mamlaka that the fire started in the children's room while they were sleeping, while their father and mother were in an adjacent room. He noted that both parents suffered from smoke inhalation and were taken to hospital for treatment.
He said that emergency and security teams responded quickly after receiving the report, dealing with the fire and extinguishing it.
The uncle said the deceased children were a seven-month-old girl and two boys aged four and seven.
He confirmed that the children's parents are in good and stable condition, adding that they were affected by smoke inhalation inside the home.
Earlier, the Public Security Directorate said firefighting and ambulance teams from the Zarqa Civil Defense Directorate had responded to a fire that broke out inside an apartment on the fourth floor of a four-story residential building in Zarqa Governorate.
