According to a statement issued by the ministry on Sunday, the project—costing half a million dinars and scheduled to last four months—includes milling the old asphalt and repaving the road with a new asphalt layer meeting international standards. It also involves installing new traffic signs, road markings, and ensuring all necessary traffic safety requirements are met.
In coordination with the Central Traffic Department and highway patrols, the ministry has developed a traffic diversion plan to regulate traffic during construction. A two-way alternating system will be implemented, keeping one lane open in each direction to maintain traffic flow.
The diversions will be as follows: the road from the Ramtha Bridge toward Al Hassan Industrial City will be separated with plastic barriers. Work will begin on one lane while the other remains open to traffic. Once work is completed on the first lane, it will reopen and construction will begin on the second.
The ministry urged drivers to adhere to the speed limits and follow the instructions of traffic police and field crews, emphasizing that this work is part of its ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure and enhance traffic safety.
This project is part of a series of periodic maintenance initiatives the ministry is undertaking this year across the country’s main road network.
