In a post on the platform X, the ministry announced:
"Coming soon to Queen Alia International Airport — a simpler, faster, and smarter travel experience. Get ready to take off through the smart gates."

This announcement follows earlier statements by the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Al-Samarrai, who revealed on May 1st that five smart gates had been installed for arrivals and four for departures at the airport, and were in the trial phase.

At the time, Al-Samarrai noted that the gates were scheduled to be operational by the end of June and would initially be designated for Jordanian citizens only, whether arriving or departing. This step is part of an effort to accelerate procedures and enhance the travel experience by utilizing the latest digital solutions.
