Positivity rate hits 5.53% as COVID-19 cases top 2,042

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 2,042 new COVID-19 cases and 15 new deaths Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 11,077 and the total number of cases to 868,493.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 676 cases, while Zarqa recorded 181 cases. Irbid registered 520 cases, Balqa reported 105 cases, Karak recorded 80 cases, Jerash recorded 69 cases, and Tafileh recorded 27 cases. Madaba registered 63 cases, Aqaba 87, and Ajloun 78.

The ministry said in a statement that 50 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 84 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 22,460 according to the ministry. Out of 36,929 COVID-19 tests conducted Wednesday, 5.53 percent of them came back positive.
