Police foil scheme to defraud Jordanian company of JD13,000

AMMAN — The Public Security Department's media spokesperson revealed on Thursday the uncovering of a cunning plot to defraud a Jordan-based company out of JD13,000.اضافة اعلان

The scheme unfolded on Wednesday evening when a man filed a police report, alleging that he had been attacked by three unidentified individuals. According to his account, he had been stabbed in the thigh and robbed of the substantial sum of JD13,000 that he had been carrying, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.

The alleged assailants had swiftly escaped with the money.

However, meticulous examination of the crime scene, coupled with extensive information gathering and verification, led investigators to conclude that the entire incident had been fabricated by the man as a ploy to steal the funds.

Subsequently, detectives subjected the suspect to intense questioning, ultimately extracting a confession from him. He admitted to concealing the money in a warehouse, providing the police with the crucial information necessary to locate the hidden stash. The spokesperson emphasized that the suspect will face judicial proceedings and be brought to trial for his actions.
