On Thursday, the Land Transport Regulatory Commission and the Integrated Multi-Modal Transport Company signed an agreement to manage and operate the transport project between Amman and the governorate centers.

This project is part of the Ministry of Transport’s and the Commission’s plan to restructure public transportation services between Amman and the governorate centers. The goal is to enhance network efficiency, improve safety and comfort for citizens, and provide organized and reliable public transport services.

The plan includes main routes connecting Amman to the governorates of Irbid, Jerash, Salt, and Karak—some of the most frequently used lines by citizens. The official operation of the project is expected to take place in two phases over July and August. Dedicated operating companies have been established for each route to ensure effective management and high-quality performance.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission, Riyad Al-Kharabsheh, and the Director General of the Integrated Company, Moayad Abu Farda, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of the company, Salah Al-Louzi, the Deputy Mayor of Amman, Mohammad Al-Qaisi, and a number of officials from the ministry, the commission, and the company.

According to the statement, the Minister indicated that this project aligns with the strategic goals of the transport sector. It aims to improve connectivity between Amman and the governorate centers through regular, safe, and high-quality public transport services. This will help reduce reliance on private vehicles, decrease traffic congestion and carbon emissions, and promote the principle of equitable service for all citizens.

Salah Al-Louzi, Chairman of the Board of the Integrated Company, stated that the company will dedicate all its technical and administrative capabilities and expertise to operating the project in a way that ensures regular trips and user satisfaction. He added that the project represents a qualitative leap in the development of inter-governorate public transport and contributes to enhancing the integration of national transport services.
