Ministry urges at-risk to take flu vaccine

AMMAN — The Assistant Secretary-General for Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health Ghazi Sharkas on Tuesday urged the elderly and those with chronic diseases to take the flu vaccine, according to Al-Ghad News. Sharkas said that the flu vaccine does not conflict with the COVID vaccine, but it is preferable to wait from two weeks to a month in between vaccinations. He said that flu infections are expected to increase this and urged at-risk groups to get vaccinated. He explained that the pandemic has resulted in a clear decrease in influenza infections, due to a majority of citizens wearing masks and using sanitizer.
