Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Dana Al-Zoubi, chaired the seventh periodic meeting of the National Team for the Implementation of the Industrial Policy 2024–2028. The meeting was attended by team members from industrial chambers, as well as representatives from various industrial sectors and relevant stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.

During the meeting, Al-Zoubi stated that "intensifying the efforts of technical task forces in the upcoming phase is of utmost necessity to ensure the completion of the plan and its projects within their specified timeframes. This translates the royal directives to enhance the competitiveness of national industry, increase value addition, and diversify products."
She added that "the Industrial Policy, anchored in the Economic Modernization Vision, focuses on reducing production costs, enhancing resource efficiency, and building human and technical capabilities to keep pace with the requirements of the industrial sector and Fourth Industrial Revolution developments, thereby enabling local products to expand their market share regionally and internationally."
According to a ministry statement issued today, the meeting reviewed progress in implementing the National Energy Efficiency Program in Industrial Facilities, distributing a questionnaire to the most energy-intensive plants to evaluate the impact of electricity and fuel costs, alongside hosting awareness workshops on energy conservation.
Also within the energy track, updates were provided on supplying industrial estates with natural gas. Implementation and consultancy services tenders were awarded for Al-Rawda and Al-Muwaqqar industrial cities, while environmental approval was granted for the Mafraq Development Zone in preparation for issuing its implementation tender.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the findings of a transportation services study in the Al-Qastal area and recommendations to improve transport in Irbid by expanding contractual transport, increasing permits, and providing a shuttle service.
On the environmental front, the issuance of the "Jordanian Eco-Label" regulations was announced, along with the adoption of its visual identity, the commencement of its registration, and the formation of its technical committees, coinciding with preparations for the second cycle of the Green Factory Award.
Regarding skills and value addition, attendees reviewed the introduction of flexible study modules, the expansion of vocational training and productive branches, and the completion of licensing automation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Discussions also covered attracting investments in the garments sector, preparing strategies for the chemical, food, and engineering industries, launching the applied research program, enhancing the food safety ecosystem according to European Union standards, and preparing a feasibility study for semiconductor manufacturing.
The meeting concluded with updates on investment promotion, execution of the "Made in Jordan" program, memorandums of understanding regarding green hydrogen and green ammonia, developing mining opportunities, and enhancing companies' readiness to participate in international exhibitions.
