The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) confirmed on Thursday that horizontal visibility in the Ras Munif area of Ajloun Governorate has dropped to less than 50 meters due to fog and prevailing weather conditions.

The department warned motorists of reduced visibility in the area, urging them to exercise caution while driving.
Regarding the weather situation, the JMD reported moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of northern and central regions of the Kingdom.
The department also announced on Thursday the onset of the effects of a low-pressure system, bringing light to moderate rainfall to parts of Irbid Governorate and the northern Jordan Valley. It added that rainfall intensity is expected to increase in northern regions in the coming period, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.
Jordan is being affected on Thursday by a cold and moist air mass associated with a low-pressure system centered north of the island of Cyprus. Temperatures are expected to drop, with cold and partly cloudy conditions prevailing. Rainfall is forecast during the early morning hours starting in northern regions, gradually extending during the afternoon to central areas and parts of the eastern regions.
According to the JMD forecast, rainfall may be heavy at times, particularly in northern and central parts of the Kingdom, including the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area. Thunderstorms and hail are expected in some areas. During the night, rainfall is likely to extend gradually to limited parts of the southwestern regions. Westerly winds will be active, with occasional strong gusts reaching speeds of 50–60 km/h, raising dust in desert areas, before shifting at night to northwesterly winds of moderate to active speed.
The Meteorological Department warned of the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas in northern and central regions, including the northern and central Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea area; the danger posed by strong winds and accompanying gusts; reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in desert areas; and poor visibility caused by fog and low clouds touching the ground, especially over mountainous areas. It also cautioned against slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall and stressed the importance of avoiding crossing flooded areas.

On Friday, temperatures are expected to drop slightly, with cold and partly to occasionally cloudy conditions and a chance of intermittent rain showers in parts of western regions. Winds will be northwesterly and moderate, becoming active at times.
On Saturday, the weather will remain cold across most regions, while conditions will be mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with some low clouds appearing. Winds will be easterly and moderate.
On Sunday, temperatures will rise slightly. The weather will be cold in most areas and mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with high clouds appearing. Winds will be southeasterly and moderate, occasionally becoming active.
