Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed that the defense pact signed between Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan does not target any nation.

Erdoğan’s remarks follow a landmark move reshaping regional security. On August 7, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Turkish President, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the "Mecca Joint Defense Agreement."
At its core, the agreement stipulates that any attack or aggression against one signatory state is considered an assault on all, reflecting a clear joint strategic resolve.
In press statements, Erdoğan emphasized that the tripartite alliance does not target any country and should instead be viewed as an effective instrument for consolidating security and stability.
The pact "is not a bloc directed against any party, but rather an embodiment of a strategic vision built on the principles of peace, stability, solidarity, and collective deterrence," Erdoğan said, highlighting the core principle uniting the three nations: "The security of one is the security of all." Operationally, the agreement incorporates close cooperation in intelligence sharing and regional security coordination.
Erdoğan noted that the alliance remains open to "all sisterly nations" that share the same vision, calling for prioritizing diplomacy and dialogue over escalation and conflict.
Regarding the geopolitical outlook, the Turkish President stressed that regional states must take responsibility for their own destiny, rejecting foreign-imposed solutions.
"The region's problems must be resolved by its own people and regional actors," he said, affirming that the future of the Middle East cannot be shaped without the will of its states.
Erdoğan concluded by stating that Turkey and its allies seek to build a "regional order based on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, where security, development, and prosperity are jointly reinforced"—a clear message reflecting the three nations' commitment to achieving comprehensive, sustainable stability through an independent and effective regional security framework. — (RT)
