During a press conference ahead of Jordan’s final training session before facing the UAE in the Arab Cup opener, Salami emphasized that the tournament is a chance to showcase players’ abilities, noting Jordan’s ambition to perform well with a talented squad.
Regarding the upcoming World Cup draw scheduled for Friday, Salami stated he has no issue facing any opponent, except he prefers not to be drawn against Morocco. He stressed that the team aims to reach the Round of 16 in the tournament.
Salami added that criticism directed at him will not undermine the team’s program or the confidence he has instilled, pointing out that football is unpredictable—citing Qatar, the Asian champion and Arab Cup host, losing to Palestine despite being a favorite.
