During his field tours on Thursday, the Minister of Local Administration, Eng. Walid Al-Masri, directed heads of municipal committees, joint service councils, and municipal affairs directorates to raise their readiness levels for the next four hours, following forecasts of heavy rainfall in Karak Governorate and the Southern Ghor (Al-Aghwar Al-Janoubiyah).

The Minister emphasized that the areas of Fifa, Al-Haditha, Al-Mazra’a, and Al-Safi will be affected by "transported rain" (runoff) coming from eastern and desert regions. This requires intensified field efforts, maximum caution, and immediate precautionary measures to handle any emergencies.
He noted that runoff water may continue to flow even after the rain stops, potentially lasting until late evening, which necessitates continuous monitoring of watercourses and drainage systems.
Al-Masri stated that while rainfall since dawn has not yet impacted citizens or their properties, service institutions must remain vigilant regarding infrastructure and take all necessary preventive actions.
The Minister urged citizens to exercise extreme caution, stay away from valleys and flood-prone areas, and avoid attempting to cross roads experiencing water flows to ensure their safety and the protection of their property, while strictly adhering to instructions from competent authorities.
