His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasized, during his meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the importance of all parties adhering to the agreement to end the war in Gaza, underscoring the need for full implementation of all its phases.
His Majesty also reaffirmed the necessity of ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of Palestinians affected by the situation in Gaza.
During the meeting—which was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Chief Advisor to His Majesty for Religious and Cultural Affairs and His Majesty’s Personal Envoy—His Majesty highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s role within the UN Security Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as well as its support for the agreement to end the war in Gaza.
His Majesty stressed the need to halt unilateral measures against Palestinians in the West Bank, particularly plans aimed at expanding settlements and annexing land, warning against assaults on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
During the meeting, Jordan and Pakistan reaffirmed their rejection of any plans to forcibly displace Palestinians and reiterated their firm support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the two-state solution.
