Jordan records 1,596 new COVID-19 cases today

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded on Saturday reached 61, according to The Ministry of Health, while a total of 1,596 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 8,178 and the caseload to 683,466.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Saturday’s tally, the ministry said:

506 cases were recorded in Amman.
62 in Irbid.
102 in Zarqa
70 in Balqa
122 in Mafraq
1 in Jerash
62 in Karak
47 in Ajloun
41 in Madaba
49 in Aqaba
24 in Ma'an.
62 in Tafilah

The ministry added in a statement that some 2,274 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 222 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 43,344, according to the ministry’s statement.

631,944 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.

Around 14.02 percent of the 11,385 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
