Jordan attends Iraq’s first oil conference

BAGHDAD — The Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has spent the last two days in Iraq, attending the first conference on oil and gas prospects, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.اضافة اعلان

Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, and Oman all attended the conference, which the Federation of Arab Engineers organized in conjunction with the Iraqi Engineers Union (IEU).

Bahjat Al-Adwan, Director of Natural Resources Projects at the MEMR, spoke at the conference about the activities carried out by the ministry in the field of oil exploration, accompanying studies, and drilling operations. According to the government's recently unveiled economic modernization vision (EMV), Adwan addressed the most significant upcoming projects in the oil and gas industry by highlighting the steps taken by the government to encourage and provide an incubating environment for investment in this field.

For their part as members of the Jordanian delegation, Bassam Ababneh and Fadea Abdel-Haq presented investment opportunities in the Sirhan Development Area, the oil characteristics of the Hamza field, and oil exploration areas in the Kingdom.
