Amman - The Jordanian National Centre for Epidemics and Communicable Diseases Control (JCDC) held a training workshop, themed: "Cybersecurity: A Strategic Necessity to Protect Institutions and National Security", on the occasion of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

According to a JCDC statement Tuesday, its head, Dr. Adel Belbisi, stressed the necessity of educating the center's workers on protecting digital systems and "vital" assets in Jordan.
For her part, the JCDC's Director of the Information Technology and Systems, Fatimeh Hammad, said cybersecurity features a set of operations, technologies and tools to protect digital systems, networks, and data from cyberattacks.
Hammad also discussed the impact of cyber threats on the operational processes of institutions, especially in "vital" sectors, such as healthcare, reviewing the Kingdom's efforts to enhance cybersecurity.
