Health Ministry clarifies incident with ‘abandoned COVID-19 PCR’ tests

AMMAN— On Friday, the secretary-general for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Affairs at the Ministry of Health, Adel Balbisi, said that the ministry has followed up on the video which was broadcasted on various media outlets and showed dozens of samples of alleged COVID-19 PCR tests abandoned on the side of a road in Balqa Governorate.اضافة اعلان

According to an interview with the Jordan News Agency, Petra, he said that the ministry has sent a specialized team, in cooperation with the security bodies, to the investigate the site of the samples.

They found that the tests tubes are not COVID-19 PCR test tubes but are related to another kind of lab test allegedly affiliated with one of the medical bodies in the private sector.

He added that an investigation is underway regarding the incident.
