Minister of Health Ibrahim Al-Badour said on Tuesday that the procedures were conducted within the framework of the ministry’s plan to activate emergency cardiac catheterization services between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. the following day, aiming to accelerate medical intervention for critical cases and improve patients’ chances of survival.

According to the minister, the cases were distributed among several hospitals affiliated with the ministry:
 • Al-Bashir Hospitals – 48 cases
 • Prince Hamzah Hospital – 44 cases
 • Zarqa Government Hospital – 40 cases
 • Al-Hussein Salt New Hospital – 21 cases
 • Princess Basma Hospital and King Abdullah University Hospital – 17 cases
 • Karak Government Hospital and Tafilah Government Hospital – 12 cases

Al-Badour clarified that these figures do not include emergency or routine catheterization procedures performed during the morning hours. He added that hospitals equipped to perform cardiac interventions have been strengthened with specialized staff working in shifts around the clock and throughout the week to ensure rapid response to critical cases.

He also noted that the ministry has linked other hospitals with those equipped for cardiac catheterization through a specific mechanism that enables direct transfer of heart-attack patients to facilities capable of providing the necessary treatment as quickly as possible.

The minister stressed the importance of adhering to internationally recognized medical treatment protocols, which help improve response time for critical cases and enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.

Al-Badour explained that the implementation of the heart attack treatment protocol is part of the ministry’s broader plan to improve healthcare quality and establish unified treatment protocols for critical medical conditions, in line with the latest globally approved medical practices, increasing survival chances and reducing complications.
