Crown Prince Warns Against the Dangers of Unilateral Israeli Measures in Undermining Prospects for Peace in the Region

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II warned on Wednesday, during meetings with members of the U.S. Congress in Washington, of the dangers posed by unilateral measures taken by the Israeli government in undermining prospects for peace in the region and fueling extremist rhetoric.اضافة اعلان





During the meetings, His Royal Highness stressed the need to end the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and de-escalate tensions in the West Bank to restore regional stability.

In his meeting with U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Senator James Risch and committee member Senator Jeanne Shaheen, His Royal Highness emphasized the importance of halting escalation in the region, particularly in the West Bank, and of supporting Syria and Lebanon in preserving their stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He also expressed appreciation for Senator Shaheen’s calls to end the war on Gaza.

The Crown Prince affirmed that Jordan will continue providing support to the Palestinian people to alleviate the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

During his meeting with Senator Chris Van Hollen, who serves on both the Appropriations and Foreign Relations Committees, His Royal Highness reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to pursuing modernization efforts and promoting calm at the regional level.

The Crown Prince commended Senator Van Hollen’s supportive stance on ending the war in Gaza and his repeated calls toward that goal.

His Royal Highness also met with Senator Brian Schatz, where he reiterated warnings about the dangers of unilateral Israeli measures in the region. The meeting also addressed initiatives of the National Council for Future Technology, including the use of artificial intelligence in education, digital health, and the development of digital infrastructure.

In a meeting with Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, Vice Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, the Crown Prince underscored the importance of enhancing economic cooperation between Jordan and the United States, in support of the goals of Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision.

Furthermore, during his meeting with Congressman Mike Lawler, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Middle East, His Royal Highness highlighted Jordan’s keenness to participate in implementing regional economic projects.

The meetings were attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to Washington, Dina Kawar, and the Crown Prince’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Zaid Al Buqaein.
