His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II met on Tuesday with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
The Crown Prince warned of the dangers of escalation in the region and the continued Israeli measures in the West Bank, stressing that the annexation of Palestinian territories and settler violence undermine prospects for achieving peace.
Prince Al Hussein praised Ireland’s supportive position toward the Palestinian cause, as well as its efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and support peacekeeping efforts in Lebanon.
The Crown Prince also expressed Jordan’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Ireland in the fields of technology and digital transformation, as well as education and vocational and technical training.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Crown Prince’s Office Zaid Al-Baqaeen attended the meeting.
