AMMAN — The Civil Aviation Regulatory
Commission (CARC) is probing why a training aircraft veered off course while
landing at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, CARC’s Chief
Commissioner Haitham Mesto said, according to Khaberni.
Mesto said Wednesday the aircraft swerved for a few
meters on the runway. In such cases, the commission “takes necessary measures,
such as opening an investigation in the accident,” Khaberni said.
The aircraft, a light single-engine Cherokee used for training, was
flown by one pilot. The accident caused no damage.
