Army thwarts smuggling from Syria in drug-mounted drone

AMMAN — Army officers in an eastern military zone foiled a smuggling attempt from neighboring Syria by shooting down a drug-mounted drone, an official source in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said, according to AmmanNet.اضافة اعلان



It is believed that this was the first time a drone was used to smuggle drugs from Syria to Jordan.

The army source indicated that through monitoring and follow-up, the drone was controlled and shot down, and after searching the area, unspecified quantities of narcotics were found.

JAF will not tolerate any attempts to threaten the security of the Kingdom and its people and will deal firmly and strictly to thwart any smuggling or infiltration attempts across its borders, the source added.
