Speaking at the iCON Content and Media Summit held Wednesday in Amman, Al-Momani noted that technological advancements have multiplied the speed at which misinformation spreads, while the expansion of digital platforms has amplified hate speech. He also highlighted the direct influence of algorithms on content and the risks posed by unregulated artificial intelligence.
Al-Momani underscored that no single government or sector can address these challenges alone, calling for collaboration between governments, media institutions, technology companies, content creators, and civil society to ensure a safe and respectful digital environment.
He added that the Ministry of Government Communications is working to develop a modern national communication system that enhances transparency, builds public trust, and delivers accurate and timely information, while also supporting responsible and positive content.
The ministry continues its efforts to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in digital media and advanced technology sectors, Al-Momani said.
