Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court, Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, affirmed that His Majesty King Abdullah II’s address to the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly delivered a clear message to the world—grounded in firm positions and insightful vision—that reflected the conscience of Arab and Islamic peoples and reinforced Jordan’s steadfast defense of Palestinian rights and the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem and its holy sites.
Al-Issawi made these remarks during two separate meetings at the Royal Hashemite Court on Wednesday, the first with a delegation of Jordanian engineers, and the second with a group of young professionals working in consulting and taxation at Jahd Consulting.
He said His Majesty was candid in rejecting the policies of the current Israeli government, which he warned are undermining the foundations of peace and burying the prospect of a Palestinian state. He cautioned that repeated assaults on Al-Aqsa Mosque risk igniting a religious war extending beyond the region.
Al-Issawi stressed that the Palestinian right is neither a gift nor a favor, but an entrenched right that cannot be subject to negotiation, and that no genuine peace will be achieved except on the basis of the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent, viable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He reviewed Jordan’s ongoing efforts in support of Palestine and Gaza, noting that Jordan has become a central hub for humanitarian response through aid convoys and field hospitals that reflect the humanitarian dimension of His Majesty’s leadership. He added that Jordan’s voice in international forums will continue to stand as a platform for justice, urging that calls to end the war in Gaza be translated into tangible action.
Al-Issawi also discussed the comprehensive modernization project in its economic, political, and administrative tracks, stressing that it is an irreversible choice and a trust for future generations. He explained that the Economic Modernization Vision aims to improve citizens’ living standards and generate job opportunities for youth, while the political track focuses on strengthening party life and parliamentary engagement to deepen public participation.
He further highlighted Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah’s efforts in education, women’s empowerment, and family support, as well as Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II’s role in motivating youth and engaging them in decision-making. He pointed out that the reactivation of the national service program represents a practical translation of Their Majesties’ vision for shaping youth character and reinforcing national belonging.
Al-Issawi concluded that Jordan, under Hashemite leadership, will remain resilient in the face of challenges, and that national willpower, alongside the energy of youth and professionals, is the true driving force of progress and prosperity.
For their part, attendees praised His Majesty the King’s role in defending Palestine, noting that his UN speech genuinely expressed the aspirations of both the Palestinian and Jordanian peoples and reaffirmed Jordan’s standing as a just voice in confronting occupation.
They emphasized that the Hashemite leadership—since the era of Sharif Hussein bin Ali, may God rest his soul—has been a steadfast pillar in defending Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites. This historic role, they said, reflects the enduring Hashemite values of supporting brothers and safeguarding just causes of the nation.
They added that His Majesty continues to embody this noble path through tireless efforts at home and abroad, describing him as a leader “resolving disputes, bridging divides, feeding the hungry, and sheltering the fearful”—a reflection of a humanitarian mission that transcends borders.
The participants also commended Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania, along with Crown Prince Al Hussein, for their support of the education and technology sectors, which has elevated Jordanian engineering to global standards. They stressed that Jordanian talent in the engineering field enjoys competitive professional skills at the highest level.
