Minister of Health Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badour held a series of bilateral meetings with several of his counterparts from Islamic countries on the sidelines of the Islamic Conference of Health Ministers, hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Amman from October 7 to 9.اضافة اعلان

The meetings included the Ministers of Health of Syria Dr. Musab Al-Ali, Malaysia Dr. Zulkifli Ahmad, Somalia Dr. Ali Haj Adam, Yemen Dr. Qassem Mohammed Bahibah, Brunei Dr. Al-Haj Mohammed Isham, and Gambia Dr. Ahmadou Samateh. He also met with Pakistan’s Minister of State Malik Bahrat, where they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange expertise in healthcare, disease prevention, medical staff training, and supporting joint efforts to address health challenges in Islamic countries.

In his meeting with Syrian Health Minister Dr. Musab Al-Ali, Dr. Al-Badour affirmed the deep brotherly relations between the two countries and Jordan’s commitment to strengthening health cooperation with Syria, particularly in the areas of experience exchange and medical staff training. The two sides also discussed the possibility of signing agreements to implement this cooperation soon.

The discussions with the ministers also covered prospects for cooperation in medical tourism. Dr. Al-Badour emphasized the importance of this vital sector and its role in enhancing health and economic integration among Islamic countries. He noted that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is among the leading countries regionally in providing medical and therapeutic services to patients from various nations, thanks to its advanced infrastructure and highly skilled medical professionals.

Dr. Al-Badour also stressed during the meetings Jordan’s dedication to promoting joint Islamic efforts in the health sector and its regional role in supporting and developing healthcare systems in sister countries, highlighting the importance of coordinating efforts and sharing best practices among member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The ministers, for their part, expressed their appreciation for Jordan’s efforts in hosting the conference and its prominent role in the health sector. They confirmed their desire to expand cooperation with Jordan and benefit from its advanced healthcare experience, particularly in the medical tourism sector, which is witnessing growing interest and serves as an important avenue for enhancing collaboration among Islamic countries.
