Agriculture Ministry probes Jordanian dates ban in Australia

AMMAN - Minister of Agriculture Khalid Hneifat, on Friday, said that the ministry is following on preventing Jordanian dates from entering into the Australian territories under the pretext of monitoring of Hepatitis A cases from contaminated Jordanian dates.اضافة اعلان

President of the Jordan Dates Association Anwar Haddad said that the Kingdom exported 50 tons of dates to Australia in two months, stressing that the reason behind such incident is harming the reputation of the Jordanian products, which became strong competitor in the Australian and European markets.

He added that the Australian authorities have decided to prevent Jordanian dates from entering its markets came before any reports that prove the contamination of the dates.
