How to Make Caramel Popcorn at Home
Ingredients:

1/2 cup popcorn kernels

2 tbsp vegetable oil (for popping)

1 cup brown sugar (or white sugar if brown is unavailable)

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup corn syrup (or honey as an alternative)

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:
Pop the Popcorn:
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Add the popcorn kernels and cover the pot.

Shake the pot every 20–30 seconds until the popping stops.

Transfer the popped popcorn to a large bowl.

Make the Caramel Sauce:
In a saucepan over medium heat, add the butter, sugar, corn syrup or honey, and salt.

Stir occasionally and bring the mixture to a boil. Let it cook for 4–5 minutes until it turns a golden color.

Turn off the heat, then add the baking soda and vanilla extract. It will foam slightly—this is normal.

Stir quickly until the mixture becomes light and foamy.

Coat the Popcorn:
Immediately pour the caramel over the popcorn and gently stir until evenly coated.

Spread the popcorn on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in a preheated oven at 120°C (250°F) for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool completely until crispy.

Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
