The Catalan club said in a statement that Barcelona and Arsenal had reached an agreement over the Brazilian forward's transfer, while Spanish media reported the deal was worth around €10 million ($11.5 million).
Jesus, 29, arrives to strengthen Barcelona's attack, which was weakened by the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres earlier this summer. The Spanish league champions had pursued Alvarez throughout the summer, but Atletico Madrid refused to enter negotiations with the Catalan giants.
