Jordanian media reported that national team defender Mohammad Abu Al-Nadi refused to play for his Romanian club Corvinul Hunedoara in their league match against Dinamo Bucharest because the opposing team included an Israeli player.

According to local Jordanian sports pages, the 25-year-old declined to take part in Saturday’s match between Corvinul and Dinamo Bucharest to avoid facing Israeli defender Nikita Stoinov, who has been playing for the Romanian club since last year.
Neither the Romanian club nor Abu Al-Nadi has issued a statement explaining his absence. The Jordanian defender had featured in each of his team’s previous four Romanian league matches.
Abu Al-Nadi, who was born in the United States in 2001, plays as a center-back. He began his career at the Sporting Kansas City academy before making appearances for the club’s first team. He later played for Jordan’s Al-Hussein Irbid, Iraq’s Al-Qasim and Malaysia’s Selangor, before joining Corvinul Hunedoara in June.
Abu Al-Nadi is part of the Jordan national team setup and featured with the “Nashama” at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He has also made 19 international and friendly appearances for Jordan.
