Ingredients for Homemade Hand Cream:
Shea Butter: Has a rich, creamy texture and a natural scent.
Mango Butter: Similar to shea butter but slightly firmer with a neutral aroma.
Jojoba Oil: Blends smoothly and gives the cream a silky feel. Feel free to substitute with another carrier oil that suits your skin—most work just as well.
Vitamin E Oil: Helps brighten and deeply moisturize the hands.
Preparation Steps:
In a medium-sized glass bowl, combine equal parts of shea butter and mango butter.
Place the bowl over a small pot of water (double boiler method) and heat over medium heat until both butters are fully melted and the mixture becomes liquid.
Let the mixture cool slightly at room temperature, then transfer it to the freezer for about 5 minutes or until it starts to firm up. You can test the texture by pressing it with your finger—if it begins to solidify but isn't completely hard, it's ready for whipping.
Add a tablespoon of jojoba oil and a suitable amount of vitamin E oil (to help moisturize and maintain skin freshness). You may also add a few drops of your favorite essential oils like lavender or lemon for a naturally pleasant scent (optional).
Using a hand mixer, whip the ingredients well until the mixture becomes creamy, soft, and fluffy—similar to whipped cream.
