Russia and Ukraine exchanged announcements on Saturday regarding mutual airstrikes, as drones targeted facilities inside the territories of both countries amid reports of hundreds of drones being downed over the past hours.

In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that its attack drones targeted two dry cargo vessels carrying weapons and military equipment to Ukrainian ports while transiting the sea south and east of Odesa, according to the Russian news agency.
The ministry did not provide further details regarding the damage sustained by the two ships, and there was no immediate comment from the Ukrainian side.
The Russian Defense Ministry also announced that its forces carried out a large-scale strike in the early hours of Saturday morning using high-precision ground-based weapons, targeting a defense facility as well as a fuel and lubricants depot in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.
The ministry stated that Russian air defense forces shot down 83 Ukrainian drones over several regions, including the capital Moscow, on Saturday morning.
Additionally, Russian authorities reported that a fire broke out at the Ilsky oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai following a Ukrainian drone attack, leaving five people injured.
In a separate incident, the governor of Samara Oblast stated that drones targeted an industrial facility in the region, without disclosing the nature of the facility or the extent of damage caused by the attack.
In another statement, the Russian Defense Ministry noted that air defense systems destroyed 397 Ukrainian drones over several Russian regions overnight.
Ukraine Announces Downings of 135 Drones and 6 Ballistic Missiles
On its part, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that it shot down 135 drones and 6 ballistic missiles launched by Russia over the past hours.
The Air Force stated that Russia launched 151 drones during the overnight attack, noting that 135 of them were intercepted along with the 6 ballistic missiles.
