Ukraine’s emergency services said the overnight Russian strikes hit five districts of the capital, while Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and local authorities reported widespread fires and damage to residential and commercial buildings.

A residential building in the Solomianskyi district was struck, and a large retail store caught fire. Another blaze erupted at a house in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

Authorities also reported strikes on a shopping and entertainment center in the Dniprovskyi district, a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and an office building elsewhere in the city.

Russia has carried out near-daily missile and drone attacks on the Ukrainian capital since launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Ukrainian Drone Attacks Inside Russia

On Saturday, Ukraine launched drone strikes targeting warehouses operated by Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries in the Moscow and Tambov regions, killing eight people and triggering major fires.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a post on X that the attacks hit “two major logistics facilities in Moscow and Tambov,” located more than 500 and 700 kilometers from the front line.

According to Zelenskyy, the facilities were used to store sanctioned components destined for the production of drones and navigation equipment.

Ukraine has intensified its long-range strikes on Russian territory in recent months in response to continued Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities.

The campaign has increasingly targeted Russia’s energy infrastructure, contributing to a growing fuel shortage in one of the world’s largest oil-producing countries.

Russian authorities said they intercepted 1,892 Ukrainian drones heading toward Moscow between 11 and 18 July.

Meanwhile, Russian strikes across southeastern Ukraine on Saturday killed five people and wounded around 20 others, according to Ukrainian officials.
