The European Union has reaffirmed that the new measures approved by Israel’s Security Cabinet regarding amendments to land registration procedures and property acquisition in the West Bank are “unconstructive and inconsistent with international law,” warning that they could undermine ongoing international efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation and advancing peace initiatives in the region.اضافة اعلان

In a joint statement issued Wednesday by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, Commissioner Dubravka Šuica, and Commissioner Hadja Lahbib, the European Union reiterated its firm position of not recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the territories occupied since June 1967, in line with relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The statement added that decisions affecting the implementation of the Hebron Protocol between Israel and the Palestinian Authority pose real risks to the sensitive status quo at religious sites.

The European Union renewed its steadfast commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions and on the basis of the two-state solution, whereby the State of Israel and an independent, democratic, contiguous, sovereign, and viable State of Palestine live side by side in peace, security, and mutual recognition.

The EU affirmed that it will continue working with international partners, including through the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, and called on all parties to refrain from unilateral actions that escalate tensions and undermine prospects for a negotiated solution, particularly amid coordinated international efforts to advance peace and stability in the region.
