The Qatari Ministry of Interior announced early Thursday morning that competent authorities have begun evacuating residents in the vicinity of the United States Embassy. This was described as a temporary precautionary measure to ensure public safety.

The Ministry clarified that alternative housing has been provided for the evacuated residents as part of the preventative steps taken by the relevant authorities.
The Ministry of Interior called upon citizens and residents to remain indoors and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. It further urged compliance with official instructions issued by competent authorities and advised following official channels for reliable information.
Israel and the United States have been conducting airstrikes on Iran since Saturday, which resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has retaliated by striking Israel and regional countries with missiles and drones.
Iran has also implemented a naval blockade on vessel transit through the Strait of Hormuz, targeting oil tankers attempting to cross. On Sunday, Hezbollah launched several rockets from Lebanon targeting northern Israel in response to Khamenei’s assassination, dragging Lebanon into an open war with Israel, which has carried out devastating raids on southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.
