WEST BANK – Hussein Al-Sheikh, Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said on Sunday that any reduction of the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) financial rights or any conditions imposed by Israel that prevent the PA from paying the people of the Gaza Strip are rejected, condemning any Israeli plan that allows the transfer of Palestinian tax money to another country.اضافة اعلان

The Israeli cabinet approved a plan on Sunday that authorizes the transfer of frozen Palestinian tax payments to another country while preserving the right to decide when the funds are transferred to the PA, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

Under the interim peace agreements, the Israeli Ministry of Finance collects taxes on behalf of the Palestinians and makes monthly transfers to the PA; however, now there are ongoing disputes between the two sides over this arrangement.

Sheikh urged the international community in a post on X to " stop this behavior based on piracy and stealing the money of the Palestinian people and force Israel to transfer all of our money." all of the PA's funds.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the Cabinet’s decision to freeze funds allocated to Gaza, which was prepared by the Israeli Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, and the Minister of Strategic Affairs.

Netanyahu's statement went on to say that the United States and Norway "commit to the decision of the Ministerial Committee for National Security Affairs to stop the transfer of funds allocated to Gaza to the PA, and therefore the frozen funds will not be transferred to the PA but will remain at the disposal of a third country."

"The money or its equivalent will not be transferred under any circumstances except with the approval of the Israeli Minister of Finance, including through a third party," the statement said, adding that "any violation of this agreement will allow the Minister of Finance to immediately freeze" all Palestinian tax funds.

The statement added that the United States has provided guarantees for the plan.
