OCCUPIED WEST BANK — According to the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), the total number of settler attacks’ cases on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in 2023 were 1,225. In addition, the NGO Yesh Din stated that settler violence especially since October 7 hit a record high, reporting 242 violent incidents in the past two months alone and at least ten Palestinian deaths, stating that settler violence is Israeli government policy, Al-Mamlaka TV reported. اضافة اعلان

Dozens of homes and vehicles belonging to Palestinians were damaged by settlers in 2023, Yesh Din reported, highlighting two particularly violent incidents committed by a large number of Israeli settlers in Hawara in February and Turmus Aya in June, both Palestinian towns situated between Nablus and Ramallah. In addition,

In the occupied West Bank, where Israel has held control since 1967, 490,000 settlers live among three million Palestinians. These settlements are illegal under international law. Furthermore, the organization expresses skepticism about the latest data from the Israeli occupation’s police, which claims a decrease in violence in 2023 compared to 2022, attributing this to Palestinians' lack of confidence in Israeli authorities, especially since the formation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government in December 2022, considered the most right-wing in Israel's occupation history.
