The UNHCR report for July indicated that over 111,000 refugees in Jordan are in need of resettlement, representing about 14% of the total refugee population. However, only around 1% of these cases can be considered due to limited availability in host countries.

Among the refugees who departed, 950 were Syrian, and 143 were of other nationalities. Of the 840 resettlement applications submitted this year, 200 were for Syrian refugees and 640 for refugees of other nationalities.

The UNHCR classifies applications according to the most vulnerable categories: legal and/or physical protection needs accounted for 46% of cases, survivors of violence or torture 30%, women and girls at risk 30%, at-risk children and adolescents 6%, and individuals with medical needs 2%.

From 2014 through July 2025, Jordan submitted 119,292 resettlement applications, with the highest number recorded in 2016 (32,487 applications). The year 2020 saw a notable decline due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the same period, 78,223 refugees successfully left Jordan, with 2016 also recording the highest number of departures at 21,499.
