Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized on Sunday preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon—a goal that Netanyahu says Iran is seeking to achieve, despite Tehran's denials.

"I want to emphasize once again that whether an agreement is reached or not, and as long as I am Prime Minister, Iran will not possess nuclear weapons," Netanyahu said during a cabinet meeting.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed on Sunday that there are no direct talks with the United States, but merely an exchange of messages through intermediaries.
Mehr News Agency quoted Araghchi as saying that there will be no negotiations as long as U.S. violations of the interim agreement continue.
Iran has set six conditions for the United States to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, most notably ending military operations, lifting sanctions and the blockade, withdrawing U.S. forces from its surroundings, paying compensation for war damages, and unfreezing frozen Iranian assets. Meanwhile, Washington stated that Tehran pledged not to levy fees on ships and to allow the flow of oil through the strait, amid Oman-mediated negotiations regarding navigation arrangements.
