Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Saturday that current circumstances could present an opportunity to continue toward reaching an agreement and settling outstanding issues through talks, considering the present moment most suitable for an agreement in light of what he described as "cohesion, strength, and unity" within the country.

Pezeshkian added that Iran seeks to avoid intensifying pressure on its people amidst difficulties in various fields, emphasizing that Tehran wants the other side to recognize and guarantee its rights, stressing that it asks for nothing beyond the rights of the country and the Iranian people.
He affirmed that issues cannot be resolved through war alone and that his country seeks to pursue the path of peace based on the provisions of the memorandum of understanding. He noted that Iran will proceed with negotiations to the extent that the other party does, and will not accept its demands if no progress is made.
Pezeshkian pointed out that Iran is determined to adopt the memorandum of understanding as the basis for negotiations, provided that the United States abandons the state of mistrust it created. He added that Washington is "untrustworthy," but Tehran simultaneously seeks to achieve some progress with it and resolve the issues at hand.
He explained that Iranian officials are discussing daily how to manage the diplomatic track to exit the state of "neither war nor peace," emphasizing that "one cannot fight forever," and that the war must ultimately end at some point.
Meanwhile, U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated that Iran informed the United States it will not levy fees on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz, noting that Washington will wait to see what actually happens on the ground.
The Sultanate of Oman confirmed that ongoing negotiations regarding navigation arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz are proceeding in a positive and constructive atmosphere.
In a press statement, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of avoiding any actions that could impact these negotiations and the progress achieved, which takes into account the interests of all parties.
