The Lebanese government has announced an immediate ban on all Hezbollah activities, declaring them illegal. The government revealed that it has been decided to restrict the group’s operations exclusively to the political sphere.

Following a cabinet session, Prime Minister Najib Mikati (Salam) stated: "The State declares its absolute and unambiguous rejection of any military or security actions outside the framework of its official institutions. It affirms that the decision of war and peace rests exclusively in its hands, necessitating an immediate ban on Hezbollah's activities as illegal, and restricting its work to the political field." He emphasized that "Hezbollah's recent actions constitute a violation of Cabinet resolutions."
Security Directives and National Sovereignty
Mikati stressed that "security and military agencies must take immediate measures to prevent any attacks from within our territory." He called upon the Army Command to "immediately begin implementing its plan regarding the confinement of weapons north of the Litani River and to utilize all necessary means."

The Prime Minister also announced:
The government's readiness to resume negotiations with civilian participation and international sponsorship.
Directing the Ministry of Social Affairs to provide shelter, essential supplies, and food for the displaced.
Tasking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify communications with the international community to halt the Israeli aggression and implement international resolutions.
